Moore Park Beach State School, situated 23 km North West of Bundaberg, is a Band 7 school, established in 2004. The school services the beachside community of Moore Park Beach, where the majority of school families live, as well as the surrounding areas. There is a broad range of occupations and social diversity in our community. The majority of students travel to school by bus. (see Maps and Transport under this tab)

The school community is very supportive of school activities and many parents take an active role in the school. The P & C Association is the major parent organisation, supported by the Local Consultative Committee with members from the P & C and school staff. New housing developments in the past two years have seen an increase in student enrolment numbers and this trend is expected to continue.

The school has developed strong links with various sectors of the community involving Moore Park Beach Surf Lifesaving Club, Moore Park Beach Football Club, Moore Park Beach Community Association, Moore Park Beach Rural Fire Brigade, Moore Park Beach Lions, Bargara Rotary Club, the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority (Reef Guardian School), the Australian Sports Commission, and the Scripture Union Queensland. The school also supports pre-service teachers from Central Queensland University with Mentor Teachers as part of Central Queensland University’s Teacher Pre-Service programs.

The Student Council initiates a number of activities to raise funds for the Cancer Council, Genes for Jeans Day, Diabetes awareness and local community members in need. The school choir performs in the local Christmas Carols in the Bundy Crush and the Choral Festival. The band performs with the choir at ANZAC celebrations at school and in the community. Local community coaches and parents provide opportunities for students to experience a variety of sporting activities from Aussie Rules to Croquet, Biathlon and Surf Lifesaving.

Our programs such Opti-Minds, Robotics, Book Character Day, Under 8s Day, Mad Hatters and whole school presentation nights encourage the community to come to the school and enjoy their children’s performances. Many of our staff live at Moore Park and are well respected in the Moore Park community.
