ATTENDANCE
Regular attendance is necessary if pupils are to gain the greatest possible benefit from their school experiences. Frequent absences have a definite effect on results.
ABSENTEE NOTES
As the school tracks all student absences, parents/guardians need to inform the school of reasons for absence. We encourage student absences be emailed to absences@mooreparkbeachss.eq.edu.au or a phone call to the office can be made.
ABSENTEE OFFICER
If your child is away from school and the school has not received notification of absence reason by 9am, the Absentee Officer will text message the child's parent or gaurdian. For this reason, it is important that contact details are up to date.
MONEY
Occasionally, it will be necessary for children to bring money. All money should be sent to the office in an envelope with the child’s name, date and the purpose of the money clearly shown. Second hand envelopes are quite satisfactory.
BANKING
School banking is conducted each Wednesday. New Dollarmite accounts can be opened at the Commonwealth Bank and deposits can be made at school. All enquiries should be directed to the school on 4130 6111.
HOMEWORK
Class teachers normally set a small amount of work for children to do at home. This helps maintain the continuity of learning and also gives parents an idea of the work the children are doing. It will vary from class to class:
Years 1 – 3 up to 15 minutes per night
Years 4 – 5 up to 30 minutes per night
Year 6 up to 45 minutes per night
NEWSLETTERS
Fortnightly newsletters are sent home every second Monday to every family. They are sent home with the oldest family member attending the school (unless other arrangements are made). These newsletters contain information relating to school and community events and are essential reading. The school newsletter is available each second week via our school website. These are usually uploaded by 3.00pm each second Thursday.
SUBSCRIPTIONS
A levy of $40 per family is payable to the Moore Park State School Parents and Citizens Association. This covers school resources such as: literacy and numeracy resources, support for students representing the school.
MOBILE PHONES
As mobile phones are not required at school, children are not allowed to bring them. If you need to get a message to a child we will pass this on. Children who have legitimate reasons to ring parents will be allowed to do so from the office phones.
More information about our school's policies and procedures can be found in the PARENT INFORMATION BOOKLET
